Living with the Story Land Family
You will be living with your fellow exchange student friends in one of our two housing facilities. You will enjoy the privacy of sharing your bedroom with only one other person (of the same sex) and sharing a common living space with the others. There is plenty of kitchen & living space (we supply all appliances and telephones) as well as bathrooms to accommodate your needs. We also lend towels, bed sheets, and pillows. There is a "recreation" area where you will have access to a game room, a TV (with cable), and four computers with free internet access. Air conditioning and heat are also provided for hot summer days and cool nights. Located in the basement of one of the housing facilities you will find a laundry room for your use. And, because you are living on Story Land's property, it's only a two-minute walk to work!
Life in the Beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire
The part of the country you will be living in is one of the prettiest you will ever see. Nestled in the great White Mountains you will see nature's beauty. Nearby there are lakes and rivers for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing, and trails for hiking and biking. Only a short drive from home you will find yourself at the ocean, enjoying the sun, sand, & waves! If you're more interested in shopping, then you are in luck. We have plenty of shops in nearby North Conway as well as an assortment of restaurants, movie theaters, miniature golf, parks, and other attractions. You will have a house liaison who will put together a transportation schedule for you. This will include weekly scheduled trips (on your days off) to visit other areas and attractions. Our summers vary in temperature, typically from 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day to 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit at night. If you are going to stay into the Fall the temperatures can drop into the 30s. Plan to bring an assortment of clothes so that you are prepared in any weather.
