Seasonal Opportunities
The operating season for Story Land includes every weekend from Memorial Day Weekend through Columbus Day, and features daily operations from mid-June through Labor Day. The park is open 9:00am to 6:00pm during July and August, and 9:00am to 5:00pm during May, June, September, and October. Job opportunities for eligible workers age 14 and up are numerous. Seasonal departments include Food Service, Gift Shops, Ride Operations, Entertainment, Admissions, Park Services, Guest Support, and Light Maintenance.

Admissions - The first employees our guests meet. Excellent cash skills along with communication and people skills are necessary. Must be familiar with the attractions and the surrounding area. Prior Story Land experience is preferred.

Guest Support - Friendly & outgoing team responsible for assisting guests in such places as the parking lot and the pet kennels, the ball crawl & Loopy Lab play area, and for keeping up the Park’s spotless appearance on the pathways and in food areas. This team also brings many of our characters to life, including Cinderella, Mother Goose, The Woman in the Shoe, Heidi and her Grandfather, the Scarecrow, and our happy face-painting cast members.

Food Service - Cooks, servers, prep work, dishwashers, and cashiers. This is a fast-paced environment requiring a great deal of cooperation, flexibility, & teamwork. We strive to provide excellent food and service while keeping our highly visible food areas as spotless as the rest of the Park. Minimum ages (14 or 16 years old) vary by position.

Ride Operations - Being personable and safety conscious are important qualities when operating a ride. Some rides also involve performing a speech for our guests. Minimum ages (16 or 18 years old) vary by position.

Light Maintenance - Keeps our buildings and grounds looking their best, operate lawn mowers, weed whackers, and other grounds keeping tools, along with helping out on rides when necessary. Minimum age is 18 years old.

Gift Shops - Keep the shops neat, clean, organized, and fully stocked, while also helping our guests with their purchases (souvenirs, t-shirts, etc). This department is also responsible for operating the games we have in the Park. Strong cash skills a plus. Friendly & team oriented a necessity.

Wardrobe/Laundry - Care for the costumes of over 350 employees and wash, iron, and organize the clothes while making sure they stay in good repair. Excellent organizational & time management skills necessary.
