Seasonal Opportunities
The operating season for Story Land includes every weekend from Memorial Day Weekend through Columbus Day, and features daily operations from mid-June through Labor Day. The park is open 9:00am to 6:00pm during July and August, and 9:00am to 5:00pm during our operating days in May, June, September, and October. Job opportunities for eligible workers age 14 and up are numerous. Seasonal departments include Food & Beverage, Retail, Ride Operations, Entertainment, Admissions, and Guest Support.
Admissions - The first employees our guests meet as they enter the park. Excellent cash skills along with communication and people skills are necessary; must be familiar with the area attractions and the surrounding area. Prior Story Land experience is preferred; we will train outstanding applicants.
Guest Support - Friendly and outgoing team responsible for assisting guests in the parking lot / pet kennels, ball crawl, and play areas. This team is also responsible for the park’s spotless appearance. In addition, we draw from this team to bring many of our storybook characters to life (Mother Goose, The Woman in the Shoe, Humpty Dumpty, Scarecrow, and Duke the Friendly Dragon.
Food & Beverage -Cooks, servers, dishwashers, and cashiers (excellent cash skills required). This is a fast-paced environment requiring a great deal of cooperation, flexibility, and teamwork. We strive to provide excellent food and service while keeping our food areas spotless! Age restrictions vary depending on position.
Retail - Keeping our retail areas neat, clean, organized and fully stocked, and helping guests with their purchases (excellent communication and people skills are necessary). This team also offers cashier positions and staffs our pathway games (excellent cash skills are necessary).
Ride Operation - Being personable and safety conscious are mandatory qualities while operating a ride. Certain rides involve performing a speech for our guests. Age requirements vary by position (minimum age to operate is 16).
Wardrobe / Laundry- Care for and distribute costumes/ work-wear for over 350 workers. Wash, iron, and organize clothes while making sure they stay in good repair; excellent organizational and time management skills necessary.
