Seasonal Cast Members
Our summer cast is comprised of a variety of people with diverse experiences and backgrounds: young adults in high school and college; foreign exchange students from Europe; recent graduates building their resumes; teachers and parents on summer break; retirees and grandparents who enjoy a pleasant work environment; workampers enjoying a summer in NH.

What they all have in common is the commitment to put on a good show every day in a workplace where making people smile is our goal. Our summer cast members are chosen more for their upbeat outlook and positive attitude than for specific skills.

Some tips for a successful seasonal employment interview
Complete the application, answer all questions in neat writing that can be easily read, read all the information carefully, and sign the application.

Practice for the interview with a parent or friend. Arrive on time for the interview, dressed appropriately -- personal grooming and cleanliness are important. Avoid excessive jewelry or makeup, gum chewing, and one-word responses.

Treat the interviewer politely and respectfully: sit up straight, maintain eye contact, and show interest and enthusiasm by asking appropriate questions. Shake the interviewer's hand when you meet, and again when you thank them for their time.

Department Descriptions
PARK SERVICES: this crew works in the parking lots, helps guests with the pet kennels, and pitches in throughout the park to keep things clean and running smoothly; this is an entry level job for many 14-year-olds.

ENTERTAINMENT: this group is literally "on stage" performing shows and getting the audience involved; they also provide face painting as opportunities allow.

GUEST SUPPORT: this team keeps the pathways and restrooms clean throughout the day; works in the ball crawls, the Silver Mine tour, and the Horse Race game; and also brings many storybook characters to life in costume.

RIDES: this outgoing and friendly crew is responsible for the safe operation of our amusement rides; ride operators must be at least 16 years old for some positions, and at least 18 years old for others.

GIFTS: this team assists guests on our retail sales floors, keeps our stores neatly stocked, and operates cash registers.

FOODS: this fast-paced, team-oriented department includes cashiers, servers, cooks, prep-cooks, dishwashers, and cleaners; our various food locations provide opportunities to both work in a team and individually.

ADMISSIONS: excellent cashiering skills, and outstanding communications and people skills, are required for these roles in admissions and Guest Services.

LIGHT MAINTENANCE: this crew is an extension of the Rides department, and is responsible for raking, weeding, and sweeping the pathways, as well as other duties. These cast members also are responsible for operating rides during lunches and afternoon breaks.

Seasonal Benefits
Seasonal cast members receive several benefits beyond a weekly paycheck at a competitive wage: 40+ hours weekly with consistent days off and flexible scheduling; seasonal bonuses for good performance; college scholarship funds; passes to Story Land; individual passes to other attractions in the White Mountains and New England; discounts on food and gift purchases in the park; and low-cost bus transportation for those living in the Berlin/Gorham and Conway/Fryeburg areas.

In addition: uniforms are provided and laundered daily; inexpensive lunches are served in the cast member cafeteria; several cast member social gatherings are scheduled each summer; and various sporting activities are organized annually.

Year-Round Cast Members
A small number of Story Land cast members work year-round to keep the park running safely and smoothly every year, and to prepare for the next season. This group is comprised of professionals in the fields of maintenance, management, and administration. If you'd like to be considered for any openings that might arise in the year-round crew, please submit your resume and cover letter to our Human Resources Coordinator at Story Land, Route 16, PO Box 130, Glen, NH 03838.
